Basically, each LEICKE power supply is compatible with many different notebook models of one brand and often also with those of other manufacturers. To find the correct power supply for your laptop, you have two options:
To facilitate your search, we have created seperated offers for many popular notebook models and the associated power supply. For example: You are looking for a power supply unit for your Dell Vostro 1310. Start your search on Amazon, our LEICKE webshop or even in Google with "Leicke Dell". If you get too many results, refine your search by adding "Vostro" or "Vostro 1310" until you find a LEICKE offer that explicitly mentions your notebook model. If you are not sure or you cannot find a suitable offer, just follow the alternative steps under 2.
You can compare the specifications of you power supply with the specifications of our power supplies. You will need the following:
Notebook manufacturer: This should be on the casing of the notebook.
Voltage: This is the operating voltage of your laptop, which is provided by the power supply. It is expressed in volts (in short "V") and has to be exactly the same on notebook and AC adapter. You can find the correct value on your old power supply under "Output", on the bottom of your notebook or in the user manual. Standard values are for example: 18V, 19.5V or 20V.
Current: The amperage determines the performance of the power supply and should be at least as large as indicated on your old power supply/notebook. Larger values are not a problem since the Amperage written in the manual usually means the maximum amperage the power supply can provide or the notebook consumes. As long as the amperage of the power supply is greater than or equal to the current of your notebook, everything is fine. Current is measured in ampere (abbreviated "A") and can be found right next to or under the voltage information. Common values are 2.5A, 3A or 4A.
Power: The unit of power is the joule per second (J/s), known as the watt (abbreviation "W"). It is not important in the search for a suitable power supply. Electrical power delivered to a component is given by voltage x current.
Plug dimensions: The connector size is often listed in the format outer diameter x inner diameter. Both are expressed in millimeters. Even if there is some tolerance here, deviations of plug dimensions should be less than 1 mm. You will find the exact connector dimensions in all our offers, so that you can compare them with those of you power supply.
Now, for example, search for "Leicke power supply 20V 4.5A" on Amazon, in our webshop or in Google and you will be shown all results with these values. Then also compare the plug dimensions and hopefully you will have found a suitable power supply. To sum it up again: The voltage (V) and plug dimensions of your notebook and our power supply have to match exactly. Otherwise there is a risk of damaging your notebook. The amperage can be the same or more, however, it should not be less.
